Quesadilla La Reyna del Sur

This is a wonderful little vegetarian (almost entirely vegan) Mexican restaurant and juice bar. There's a huge selection and their mock meats are amazing. The super burrito is huge, it will take at least two people to eat it in one sitting. I've been known to get three or four meals out of one super burrito. They also have great desserts, like vegan tres leches cake.

Closed Friday sundown until Saturday sundown.

Karyn's

Karyn's on Green and the Karyn's Cooked location on Wells have closed permanently.

They are *mostly* vegan - Karyn transparently states on her website, and the servers are also trained to explain, that a few, clearly-identified items contain honey. If you're NHV (non-honey vegan), ask your server to help you avoid those items.

Native Foods

This is a national chain (started in Colorado) but it has only a handful of locations nationwide, with several being here in Chicago.

All-vegan menu. Ordering is at counter before sitting down. They have a great beverage selection that includes a few bottled beers as well as house-made lavender lemonade and hot chai.

Pick Me Up Café

Pick Me Up is the only place I know of that offers vegan milkshakes with alcohol in them into the wee hours of the morning. 'Nuff said.

They don't have a website of their own, but the Yelp reviews are pretty entertaining.

Located right where the Red and Brown lines split. The menu has many wonderful, clearly-marked vegan options.
